Recent news

Much of what the Foundation does involves taking small steps that are not, in themselves, exciting, but sometimes there is a big, exciting event. We shall share information about such events here. Links to the information for each of the items shown are provided below. They appeared first on the foundation's Facebook Page.

Newsletters

The Foundation’s Newsletters include a variety of articles about relating to Somaliland's biodiversity plus an update on the Foundation’s activities. They are published in English and Somali and are intended for a general audience. You are welcome to share them. The link will enable you to read the Newsletters online or download them. For information on contributing to future newsletters or using articles or images from existing newsletters, contact us.

Documentation sites

The web makes sharing information easy. The Foundation uses two websites to share biodiversity information from Somaliland: OpenHerbarium for plants, fungi, and algae; OpenZooMuseum for animals. These sites share information with the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) which integrates it with information from many more sites. “Information” includes collection records, images, descriptions, and checklists. To find out more about how the two sites can benefit people in Somaliland, and how make them more useful, click the links.
