The Somaliland Biodiversity Museum, located at the University of Hargeisa, has been in development over the last year. We’re pleased to say that we’ve made great progress! The museum now has a small library, collecting equipment for both plants and insects, field supplies, and a small but growing collection of specimens from Somaliland. We’ve recently acquired a microscope with a camera and long arm for easier examination of specimens.
We were recently able to show the museum to University administrators and a visiting delegation from the Czech Republic, and we’re looking forward to engaging more students in the work of biodiversity science!
